Compensation & Benefits: $56,485 - $65,500

Role Overview

As a Business Development Representative, you are a critical part of the sales team, responsible for driving revenue growth by proactively identifying and converting sales opportunities. You will be the first point of contact for many potential customers, engaging with them to understand their needs and showcase our value proposition. This role requires a professional who is passionate about building relationships, has a deep understanding of our products, and is dedicated to achieving and exceeding sales targets.

Essential Duties

  • Generate Sales: Proactively reach out to potential customers via phone calls to position our market-leading value proposition, identify sales opportunities, and generate profitable sales.
  • Drive Revenue: Actively manage the entire sales cycle, from initial outreach to closing deals, ensuring a smooth and positive experience for the client.
  • Build Relationships: Engage with customers in a professional and courteous manner. You'll listen to their needs, address their concerns, and provide tailored solutions to solve their problems.
  • Be a Product Expert: Develop a comprehensive understanding of all MSF products and services to effectively communicate their features, advantages, and benefits.
  • Collaborate with the Team: Work closely with colleagues and other departments to optimize sales strategies, share best practices, and contribute to the overall success of the sales team.
  • Stay Informed: Keep up-to-date on industry trends, product updates, and competitive offerings to continuously enhance your sales effectiveness and knowledge.
  • Assist with Client Visits: Help manage client visits to MSF for platform reviews and meetings.
  • Attend Events: Attend service events and conferences as needed, including setting up and managing a booth if required.
  • Maintain Records: Keep all business development tracking forms consistently updated to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
  • Manage Marketing Relationships: Work with the Marketing team to coordinate on service events and product launches.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills across all levels, both internally and externally. You must be able to present our value proposition clearly and compellingly.
  • Client Engagement: Strong negotiation and client-facing skills with the ability to build and maintain trust-based relationships.
  • Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational and time management skills to handle a high volume of leads and responsibilities.
  • Adaptability: The ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and adapt to changing priorities with a positive attitude.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in using CRM software and other sales-related tools.

Qualifications & Competencies

  • 0-2 years of experience in sales or customer service roles is preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required; a bachelorโ€™s degree is preferred.
  • Ability to travel with notice for client meetings and dinners, which may occur after 5 PM.

Mental & Physical Requirements

  • The role is primarily sedentary, involving extended periods of sitting and working at a computer.
  • It requires a high level of mental focus to manage multiple accounts, handle rejection, and meet sales goals.
  • The ability to work with a high degree of integrity and prioritize safety is essential.
  • Ability to attend and actively participate in trade conferences, which may involve prolonged periods of standing and walking. This includes the physical tasks of setting up and taking down booths, as well as carrying, lifting, and transporting materials up to 30 pounds.
