Job description

Position: Quality Improvement Specialist

Location: Building A- Optional Remote position

Position qualifications:

Bachelors degree in healthcare, human services or quality assurance field required, Master's Degree preferred. Minimum three (3) years direct clinical experience and/or clinical supervisory experience strongly preferred.

Job purpose:

The Quality Improvement Specialist's primary responsibility is to support and improve the quality of Health Solutions West. services. This position provides support, project management, and oversight in the areas of quality improvement, training, regulatory and contractual compliance, performance measurement, and outcomes measurement. Duties include training, monitoring, and feedback of clinical standard work and evidence-based practices, as well as implementation of policies and clinical workflows. Travel to regional sites within Health Solutions West is required.

Knowledge, Skill & Ability (include materials and equipment directly used):

  • Ability to effectively communicate Health Solutions West performance expectations to staff
  • Knowledge of quality improvement processes, tools and Best Practices approaches
  • Knowledge of mental health and substance abuse regulations
  • Knowledge of clinical risk an utilization management practices
  • Capable of independent action without losing sight of Health Solutions West policies, procedures, mission, and values
  • Working knowledge of Windows based computer applications to include Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook, and Internet access.
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment including computer keyboard, calculator, copy machine, fax and multi-line telephone.
  • Interpersonal and communication skills to develop and maintain effective working relationships with all internal and external customers.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize workload in a sometimes hectic environment with frequent interruptions.

Working Conditions/Physical Demands: Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Employee is frequently required to walk, sit, stand or kneel and occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop. Must have ability to sit for longer periods of time at a computer. Employee must be able to travel between Health Solutions West sites or within the community. May be exposed to stressful situations that involve enraged, distraught and/or intoxicated individuals with possible mental disorders. Possible potential for exposure to communicable disease. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
