Job description

Intellectual Property Docketing Specialist

The firm is seeking an Intellectual Property Docketing Specialist to support its IP Prosecution team by managing patent and trademark docketing activities and ensuring the accuracy of critical deadlines and case information. This fully remote role is responsible for maintaining the integrity of the firm's docketing system while providing high-quality support to attorneys, business professionals, and clients.

Key responsibilities include reviewing patent and trademark correspondence to identify docketable events, calculating and tracking deadlines, updating and auditing docket records, opening new matters, monitoring shared IP mailboxes, preparing reports, verifying application status with U.S. and international patent and trademark offices, and assisting with new client and matter intake. The specialist will also perform quality control reviews of patent documents, resolve docket discrepancies, and stay current on U.S. and foreign intellectual property rules and procedures.

Candidates should have at least three years of law firm experience in intellectual property docketing, a high school diploma, and a strong understanding of patent and trademark prosecution processes. Experience with Foundation IP is preferred. The ideal candidate will possess excellent organizational, communication, problem-solving, and computer skills, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office. The ability to manage multiple deadlines, work independently and collaboratively, maintain confidentiality, and provide exceptional customer service is essential. Flexibility to work overtime when needed is required.

The salary range for this position is $65,000–$85,000.
