Position: Medical Collector (Patient Accounts Representative) – Remote

Pay: $18 –$20 per hour

Job Type: Direct Hire

Location: Fully Remote (Must reside in an approved state)

Schedule: Flexible Scheduling Available

About the Opportunity

Addison Group is partnering with a growing healthcare organization to hire several Medical Collectors / Patient Account Representatives. If you have experience working insurance denials, reading EOBs, and navigating payer follow-up, this is an excellent opportunity to join a stable team offering flexibility, incentive programs, and long-term career growth.

We're seeking professionals who are comfortable working independently in a remote environment while managing a high-volume insurance follow-up workload.

What You'll Do

  • Manage insurance follow-up for commercial and government payer claims.
  • Research and resolve denied, delayed, and underpaid claims.
  • Work appeals and identify resolution opportunities for reimbursement issues.
  • Review and interpret Explanation of Benefits (EOBs).
  • Research denials related to authorization, credentialing, timely filing, eligibility, and other payer requirements.
  • Contact insurance companies via phone, payer portals, and email to resolve outstanding claims.
  • Handle patient account inquiries and assist with billing-related questions.
  • Work assigned accounts and maintain productivity goals while ensuring accuracy.
  • Assist with credit balance resolution as needed (training provided).

Qualifications

Required:

  • Minimum 2 years of medical collections, insurance follow-up, or accounts receivable experience (some flexibility for strong candidates).
  • Experience working insurance denials and appeals.
  • Strong understanding of EOBs and payer reimbursement processes.
  • Comfortable communicating with payers and patients by phone.
  • Strong computer and data entry skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote setting.

Preferred:

  • Experience with HCFA claims.
  • Commercial and government payer experience.
  • Therapy, rehabilitation, or outpatient healthcare collections experience.
  • Familiarity with Raintree or other healthcare billing systems.
