Job description

We are looking for an experienced accounting specialist to lead day-to-day operations while serving as a trusted resource for clients. This role blends team oversight with direct involvement in accounting and tax matters, making it ideal for someone who is confident managing priorities across a busy client portfolio. The right candidate will bring public accounting experience, strong technical knowledge, and the ability to guide both staff and clients with clarity.

This role has the ability to work in office or be fully remote.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily accounting workflows and provide direction to team members to ensure accurate, timely completion of client deliverables.

• Serve as a primary point of contact for clients by addressing questions related to bookkeeping, tax matters, and general financial issues.

• Review and support month-end close activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger accuracy.

• Prepare and examine business tax filings and related workpapers while maintaining compliance with applicable regulations and deadlines.

• Assist with managing a high-volume client portfolio, balancing service quality, deadlines, and team capacity across multiple engagements.

• Use QuickBooks Online to monitor bookkeeping activity, resolve issues, and support clients with accounting best practices.

• Contribute to audit support and financial statement review processes by ensuring documentation is complete and organized.

• Provide hands-on technical guidance when needed while helping leadership shift greater focus toward team management and client service oversight.

• Prior experience in public accounting, ideally within a CPA firm environment.
• CPA designation preferred; Enrolled Agent credentials may also be considered.
• Strong knowledge of month-end close, general ledger management, and account reconciliation processes.
• Experience preparing or reviewing corporate tax returns and supporting tax-related client inquiries.
• Proficiency with QuickBooks Online; familiarity with tax software is an advantage.
• Ability to manage multiple client relationships and maintain accuracy in a deadline-driven setting.
• Background in reviewing journal entries, supporting audits, and producing reliable financial information.
