Job Description The Technology Specialist organizes and installs network services for clients of the Complex, as well as providing technical support for staff. This position will have core afternoon and early evening work hours. Exact shift hours may vary from week to week depending on event needs.

About You: The ideal candidate for this role is organized and self-motivated. This position requires mobility to install network cabling on the floor and in floor boxes, to lift, install, and remove computer and network equipment in offices and server rooms, and to move computer equipment between the supported venues over a four-city-block area. Employees may be requested to perform job-related tasks other than those specifically presented in this description. Manages customer network and internet services for customers of the Convention Center Department facilities. Interfaces with customers; determines customer network requirements; provides service pricing to customers; configures wireless networks; installs and removes network services.

Provides intermediate level technical support of network infrastructure and/or administration of assigned department computer network; monitors network and/or application system performance and troubleshoots service interruptions and issues; responds to service requests; Performs or coordinates the installation of equipment and system services; configures network equipment and related access; works with customers to identify and set up network and internet service needs for special projects/events. Maintains performance and availability of existing systems, servers, applications and services; monitors backup operations; performs updates and applies security and other patches; monitors event logs for security or operational issues; identifies and resolves issues. Provides customer support and responds to service requests; researches and troubleshoots issues; performs account resets; provides training and instruction.

Provides technical support and assists with project management and implementation of new technologies.
