Is sales a recession proof job?

Entry level sales jobs are often considered more resilient during economic downturns because many sales roles are commission-based and focus on essential products or services. However, overall sales employment can still be affected by broader economic conditions, and job security depends on the industry, company stability, and individual performance. Developing strong communication and product knowledge can help improve job stability in sales roles during recessions.

What are entry level recession proof sales jobs?

Entry level recession proof sales jobs are positions that focus on selling products or services that tend to remain in demand even during economic downturns. These roles may include selling essential goods, healthcare services, insurance, or technology solutions that businesses and consumers continue to need regardless of the economy. Individuals in these positions often receive training, work under experienced managers, and have opportunities for advancement. Because the products or services are considered necessities, job security is generally higher during recessions compared to other sales jobs.
