Job description

(Kenner, Louisiana): Flexicrew Technical Services (FTS) is seeking an Embedded Systems Programmer / Electrical Engineer - Rail to support the development of control systems for commercial and industrial laundry equipment. This entry-level role focuses on embedded firmware development, PLC programming, HMI interfaces, and machine automation. The ideal candidate is eager to gain hands-on experience in industrial applications while collaborating with cross-functional engineering and production teams.

Essential Duties:
• Develop and maintain embedded firmware for rail systems
• Write, test, and debug PLC code for machine automation and control systems
• Assist with integration of software and hardware components including sensors, motors, and control boards
• Support development and maintenance of HMI interfaces for machine control and diagnostics
• Participate in system testing, validation, troubleshooting, and performance optimization
• Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, manufacturing, and production teams on system improvements
• Assist field and production teams with diagnosing and resolving technical issues
• Maintain software documentation, version control, and system change records

Requirements/Skills:
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
• 0–3 years of related experience in embedded systems, controls, or automation
• Proficiency in C programming
• Experience with embedded firmware development
• Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and analytical problem-solving skills
• Familiarity with Visual Studio programming environments
• Exposure to HMI design and development
• Basic knowledge of PLC programming and industrial automation systems
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented engineering environment
• Strong communication and organizational skills

Physical Requirements:
• Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods throughout the workday
• Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 25 pounds
• Ability to work in an industrial manufacturing environment around machinery and electrical equipment
• Ability to use computers, testing equipment, and hand tools as required
• Ability to distinguish colors, read technical diagrams, and interpret engineering documentation
