Are you currently enrolled in an ARRT-accredited Radiologic Technology program and looking to gain valuable hands-on experience in a hospital setting? UPMC Chautauqua is seeking motivated Radiology Students to join our Imaging team in a casual role.
This is an excellent opportunity to build your skills, work alongside experienced imaging professionals, and gain real-world exposure to a variety of radiology services while continuing your education.

Provide support help in the Imaging/Film Library as well as at the Imaging reception areas. Assist Staff Radiologic Technologists in obtaining quality radiographs for interpretation by a physician
Responsibilities:
  • Recognize and document all pertinent information related to patient care.
  • Utilize the RIS and PACS effectively to ensure accurate departmental/system data.
  • Communicate any delays to patients and/or family members.
  • Obtain quality images while following radiation safety standards and patient protocols.
  • Take responsibility for personal performance improvement.
  • Provide guidance and direction to patients for changing into a gown.
  • Assist Radiologist and Staff Technologists in performing fluoroscopically guided procedures.
  • Demonstrate individualized care for each patient.
  • Perform efficient image management to include both hard copy and soft copy images.
  • Provide images to radiologist for interpretation, as well as service to staff physicians, the department of surgery, radiology staff, and to patients requesting their films.
  • Arrive patients, track exams, scan scripts, schedule exams in Imagecast and Rad Assessment.
  • Assist in the organization and duties of the reception and file room areas.

Qualifications:
Student of an American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) approved training program. Satisfactory progress in the clinical program is required
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire
New York Mandated Reporter - Due within 90 days of hire or transfer New York SCR Application - Due within first week of Hire
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
  • NY Mandated Reporter Training
  • NYS Staff Exclusion List (NYSEL)
  • NYS Statewide Central Register of Child Abuse (NYSCR)
