Background

We are passionate about the stone industry with mining operations and a fabrication division for our natural stone products. We are looking for candidates that excel in a team environment and have the willingness to complete all functions related to quarrying and processing granite. Our quarry is located 16 miles south of Ely, MN and we are seeking candidates that live in the area, or are willing to travel. An ideal candidate will strive to maximize equipment run time and achieve daily production goals.

Stone Quarry Operator/Miner Responsibilities

  • Safely and efficiently operate heavy equipment such as skid steer, track drill, loader and haul truck.
  • Operate wire saws and stone drills.
  • Perform minor servicing and maintenance on mobile equipment as needed
  • Perform daily pre-shift inspections on equipment with appropriate documentation
  • Follow all company policies and MSHA regulations for safe working procedures and environment.
  • Follow directions of management as to daily tasks and expectations for each specific project.
  • This is a hands-on position, not just operating equipment.
  • Trims blocks to size using wire/trim saw equipment
  • Maximize stone material usage and maintain high level of production
  • Assist in maintaining block inventory.
  • Responsible for maintaining clean work areas
  • Any mechanical repair knowledge or welding experience is welcome but not required.
