Pumper/Entry Level Operator (Multiple Positions Available)
Posting Start Date: 3/2/26
Job Location (Short): Newcastle, WY, USA, 82701
The Opportunity
  • Pumper/Entry Level Operator at a growth-oriented energy company
  • Reporting to the Shift Supervisor, you will oversee and execute all tank transfers of product throughout the refinery, while also monitoring and helping to troubleshoot all truck loading racks. We have approximately 60 tanks at this facility joining a team of Pumpers/Entry Level Operators, you will work a 4 on/4 off rotating (day and night) 12-hour shift schedule
  • To summarize, team members filling this role will serve as the eyes and ears of this facility
  • They will report incidents, keep an eye out for any suspicious activities and ensure safety is always a top priority
  • Pumpers/Entry Level Operators will always need to be aware of their surroundings, including the weather and atmospheric conditions (it can get very windy, for example), so they can ensure successful and safe operations
  • We provide required PPE for this position

Key activities include:
  • Monitor and operate pumps, valves, and other field equipment to move crude oil and finished products between tanks and process units
  • Perform accurate gauge readings and record product levels, temperatures, and pressures
  • Conduct routine inspections of tanks, pumps, and associated equipment to identify leaks, malfunctions, or unsafe conditions
  • Collect product samples as needed for laboratory analysis
  • Communicate with the control room and other operators to coordinate product movements
  • Assist with routine maintenance and ensure all work complies with safety, environmental, and operational procedures. During refinery turnarounds, this position will transition to support maintenance operations as needed
  • Accurately complete logs, reports, and documentation in accordance with company and regulatory requirements

Qualifications
To meet the basic qualifications for this role, you will have legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship.
Additional qualifications include:
  • Must be 18 years old or older with a High School Diploma or equivalent required; College coursework or degree preferred; certifications are a plus
  • Experience with loading and unloading large trucks and trailers is preferred
  • Experience with tank transfers and loading rack operation in a refinery environment is preferred
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks, including climbing tanks and lifting up to [50] lbs., the ability to reach overhead, squat, kneel, climb and grasp are required
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail preferred
  • Basic computer and recordkeeping skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Excel and Word are preferred
  • Strong math skills including the ability to work with percentages, convert fractions to decimals, etc. is required
  • Strong communication skills are required
  • The ability to work well independently and in a team environment is required
  • Strong organization and multitasking skills to ensure efficiency
  • Fluency in English, both oral and written are required
  • A commitment to attendance and punctuality required
  • A strong work ethic is required
  • Must have and maintain a valid driver's license
  • Frequent walking, standing, and sitting are required
  • The ability to work at various heights and in confined spaces is required
  • The ability to work in a position exposed to heat, noise, humidity, altitude, smoke, fumes, dust, gases, hydrocarbons, paints, and solvents will be required
