Experience Needed:
  • Has the ability to work independently & resourcefully within a small company environment.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience as Helper or equivalent knowledge of the industry.
  • Must have valid class C driver's license & clean driving record.
  • Has the ability to lead a Helper & delegate tasks as needed.
  • Has the ability to troubleshoot, remove, replace & new install of domestic well system components used by Pumpman NorCal.
  • Has the ability to operate variety of hand tools & equipment used by Pumpman NorCal.
  • Has the ability to read & interpret basic drawings, blueprints & specifications.
  • Has the ability to be flexible in job duties and be willing to help out with tasks not specifically lined out in their job description.

Physical Demands & Work Environment
  • Must be able to frequently sit, stand, walk, talk, hear & reach with hands & arms.
  • Must be able to occasionally climb, balance, kneel, crouch or crawl.
  • Must be able to perform heavy physical labor including having sufficient strength to lift, carry and/or move items up to 80 pounds.
  • Must have close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
  • While performing job duties may be exposed to outside weather conditions including heat, cold & wet.
  • While performing job duties may be exposed to unpleasant odors, mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles & moderate noise levels.

Job Description & Duties
  • Troubleshoot & diagnose domestic well systems.
  • Troubleshoot basic electrical components (Single Phase Systems & Basic 3 Phase Systems)
  • Removal & installation of submersible well pumps (1/2 HP - 100 HP) using Rig, off road pump equipment & "hand pulling" techniques.
  • Installation of new domestic water systems (booster pumps, storage tanks, plumbing manifolds, pressure tanks, etc.)
  • Installation of commercial & municipal well systems with direction from either Senior Pump Mechanic, Field Supervisor.
  • Installation of misc. water system components including but not limited to Radio Controls, Solar Pumps, Valving, Electrical Components, and Engines.
  • Basic ability to install & service water treatment systems (basic level troubleshooting & programming).
  • Perform from start to finish well tests with little to no supervision.
  • Perform maintenance inspections with little to no supervision.
  • Pull water samples for water quality testing (both in house & lab testing).
  • Operate equipment (both hand tools and large equipment) in a safe and effective manner.
  • Perform basic plumbing, electrical & carpentry duties as directed.
  • Responsible for job site safety, knows Pumpman NorCal's safety requirements & procedures.
  • Responsible for basic Rig, vehicle & equipment maintenance as instructed.
  • Communicate in effective & professional manor with Customers both in person & on the phone.
  • Complete projects in allotted time per instructions/directions provided.
  • Complete in a neat & timely manner all paperwork, including but not limited to timecards, job cards, maintenance inspections, etc.
  • Be on call with the rotation of tech pool. On-Call consists of, weekends and holidays and Monday thru Friday after hours (there is a separate compensation for this)
