Pay Range:

$73,100.00 - $120,200.00

Position Summary:

Entry level field technician to service revolutionary protein analysis instrumentation. The successful candidate will be a key member of a field team responsible for maintaining instruments and supporting customers to a high standard across North America.This position's territory is located in the greater San Francisco Bay Area region andwillsupport customers in this location and occasionally across North America. Up to 50% travel could be required for position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Customer and Instrument Support - Perform installations, qualifications and preventive maintenance on complex electro-mechanical scientific instruments in a laboratory environment. Maintain effective communication with customers to ensure efficient service. Ability to prepare samples for instrument testing andbasic laboratory skills are essential. Completion of service protocols that meetcGMP documentation requirements. Field based role with regional and possible national travel.

  • Schedule, Administration and Inventory Management - Works with direct supervision to manage and schedule customer appointments.Timely submission of service reports to clients, accurate data entry into CRM software, monthly expenses and mileage logs. Management of personal inventory for field support and cost management.

  • Support of Sales, Field Applicationsand Technical Support Teams - Work collaboratively to support teams with pre and post sales inquiriesand tasks.

Education and Experience:

  • Associate degree in an engineering or science field and 1 year offield service experience in a life science, biotech or medical industry OR completion of military electrical technical training and 1 year offield service experience in a life science, biotech or medical industry OR minimum of 3years offield service experience in a life science, biotech or medical industry.

  • Strong computer skillsincluding Windows, Microsoft Office and Outlook.Salesforce experience is a plus.

  • Laboratory experience is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Brand ambassador with professional demeanor and strong customer service skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Excellent attention to detail, time management and interpersonal skills

  • Basic laboratory skills, including experience in BSL2 and BSL3 labs

  • Valid driver's license and good driving record is required

  • The ability to lift and carry tools, parts and instruments weighing up to 50 lbs.
