Rosewood Miramar Beach, a Rosewood Hotel, is looking for an exceptional and multi-talented Entry-Level Hotel Engineer. The Entry-Level Hotel Engineer is responsible for supporting the Engineering Department in maintaining the hotel's facilities, equipment, guest rooms, public spaces, and back-of-house areas. This position performs routine maintenance tasks, assists with preventive maintenance programs, responds to guest service requests, and learns all aspects of hotel engineering operations. The role works closely with the Assistant Director of Engineering and Engineering Operations Manager to ensure the property operates safely, efficiently, and in accordance with brand standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assist with the maintenance, repair, and operation of hotel building systems and equipment.
  • Perform preventive maintenance tasks on guest rooms, public spaces, meeting rooms, and back-of-house facilities.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to guest maintenance requests.
  • Complete basic repairs involving plumbing, electrical systems, HVAC equipment, carpentry, painting, and general maintenance.
  • Conduct routine inspections of hotel facilities and report deficiencies or safety concerns.
  • Complete assigned work orders accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Assist with equipment installations, renovations, and special projects.
  • Maintain engineering tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and organized condition.
  • Support fire-life safety inspections and emergency response procedures.
  • Follow all safety, environmental, and company policies and procedures.
  • Assist with energy conservation initiatives and sustainability programs.
  • Communicate effectively with guests, team members, contractors, and management.
  • Escalate complex maintenance issues to the Assistant Director of Engineering or Engineering Operations Manager.
  • Support department goals related to asset preservation, operational efficiency, and guest satisfaction.

Qualifications
Education:
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Vocational training, trade school certification, or technical coursework preferred.

Experience:
  • Previous maintenance, construction, facilities, or hospitality experience preferred but not required.
  • Internship, apprenticeship, or technical school experience is a plus.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Basic understanding of building maintenance principles.
  • Fundamental knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and painting repairs.
  • Ability to safely operate hand and power tools.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work independently.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
