This position will lend potential opportunity for entry level employees to participate in a Class 3 license upgrade program with mentorship in plow and equipment operation.

Work Conditions

  • Applicants that are local may be given preference due to the location of the work (No Camp or LOA provided)

  • As LHL is obligated to respond to various weather patterns, some shift work, on-call, and night shift will be required

  • Will be provided a pay rate of $21/hr with increases based on experience

  • Night shift premium $3/hr

  • Opportunities to participate in a class 3 license upgrade program and mentorship in snow plow and equipment operation

Essential Responsibilities

  • Perform various highway maintenance tasks including crack sealing, asphalt patching, flagging, message painting , etc.
  • Assist with traffic control procedures
  • Perform preventive maintenance and cleaning of equipment
  • Perform other road maintenance duties as required
  • Work outside in all weather conditions

Qualifications

  • Successfully complete pre-employment drug and alcohol testing
  • Physically able to perform demanding outdoor tasks

  • Must possess a valid Class 5 driver's license

  • Provide a 3-year driver's abstract

  • Previous experience as a Traffic Controller or Flagging experience is a strong asset
