The Opportunity

WSP has an opportunity for an Environmental Administrative Assistant to join our RPM team in Calgary or Edmonton. This role provides project controls and administrative support to a national remediation team that serves longstanding clients across Canada and is known for delivering highquality technical work throughout the lifecycle of contaminated sites-from assessment through to remediation and closure.

In this role, you'll work closely with Project Managers, Project Accountants, and leadership to support the financial performance of projects. You'll be involved from project inception through to closeout, helping ensure strong financial controls, accurate tracking, and effective administrative support that enables projects to be delivered safely, efficiently, and profitably.

Your Impact

  • Collaborate with project managers, project accountants, and finance teams to track and control project costs.
  • Work with the project team to monitor the progress of deliverables, tasks, and the overall project using earned value principles.
  • Monitor project progress and performance, identifying deviations from the plan and implementing corrective actions as necessary.
  • Prepare and present regular project status reports to stakeholders, highlighting key metrics and potential risks.
  • Conduct cost analysis and forecasting to ensure project budgets are adhered to and financial targets are met.
  • Produce forecasts through project completion utilizing ETC and EAC principles.
  • Support project management processes, including opening, closing, and quality assurance procedures.
  • Track budgetary change requests to ensure regular follow-ups.
  • Perform other assigned or required tasks related to the management and control of projects, costs, and schedules.

The Skills That Set You Apart

  • Post secondary diploma or degree in accounting/finance, business administration, or other relevant training.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in an accounting-type role or project controls, preferably in the engineering or construction industry.
  • Proficiency in project finance software such as Oracle, or similar tools.
  • Familiarity with project planning software (MS Project or Primavera P6) is considered an asset.
  • Ability to multi-task, work on several projects or tasks at once, manage time, organize, and set priorities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $57,500 - $76,200
MB & ON: $52,500 - $72,300
NB, NL, NS, PE & QC: $52,000 - $69,000
