The present company was formed in 1959 when the Magnethermic Corporation acquired the assets of Ajax Electrothermic Corp. combining their expertise and capabilities.
Position Summary:
The Project Manager is responsible for leading projects from initiation through completion, ensuring that customer requirements, schedules, and budgets are met while maintaining the highest standards of quality and efficiency. This role serves as the primary point of contact for customers and internal teams, driving clear communication, effective collaboration, and strong professional relationships. The Project Manager oversees project planning, scheduling, cost control, and risk management, while coordinating cross-functional teams to meet key milestones and deliverables. In addition to managing active projects, the Project Manager supports business growth by fostering customer relationships, mentoring other project managers, and identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce waste across the organization.
Job Duties:
- Communicate effectively with customers and internal teams through clear verbal, written, and visual project updates.
- Develop and maintain strong customer relationships to support current projects and future business opportunities.
- Review and manage contracts, purchase orders, and financials, ensuring accurate payment terms, cost tracking, and reporting of budget variances.
- Create, update, and present project schedules using Microsoft Project, ensuring all stakeholders are informed of changes and impacts.
- Monitor project progress and risks, identifying potential delays (including long-lead parts) and providing timely solutions.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams (Sales, Engineering, Manufacturing, Test, Paint, etc.) to meet project deliverables and commitments.
- Lead project meetings and conference calls with customers and internal stakeholders, providing regular updates and documentation.
- Train and mentor project managers to improve organization, efficiency, and overall project management skills.
- Collaborate with accounting and finance teams to ensure timely invoicing, follow-up on payments, and overall cost efficiency.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, seeking opportunities to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and strengthen project execution.
What you need to be successful:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or related
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel up to 5% annually
- Valid U.S. Passport or the ability to obtain one.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in induction heating and melting equipment an asset.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams) and CRM systems.
