Job description

Position Overview:
The Research & Evaluation Analyst provides data analysis, reporting, and research support to strengthen program outcomes, compliance, and organizational learning. This role ensures timely, accurate, and audit-ready deliverables while supporting survey administration, grant reporting, and district analyses. Operating as part of the R&E Shared Services team, the Analyst helps IYT maintain a strong data-use culture, build partner trust, and enable continuous improvement.


Key Responsibilities:
1) Organizational Research & Evaluation

  • Support survey campaigns (staff, student, partner, alumni) by updating surveys and administration guides, monitoring survey launch and administration, conduction of preliminary analysis, and sharing lessons learned through reports/presentations.

  • Conduct descriptive and statistical analyses of program and academic data; data visualizations, and narratives.

  • Contribute to Quarterly, Mid-Year, End-of-Year, internal and external reports, ensuring at least 98% accuracy (accuracy based upon data provided).

  • Collect and analyze comparative data from non-IYT students and districts for benchmarking.

  • Assist with focus groups, pilot evaluations, and district presentations.

2) Strategic Projects & Continuous Improvement

  • Support FY 25/26 R&E strategic projects (eNPS tool, focus groups, pilot and auxiliary program evaluations, suspension/attendance analyses expansion study, enhanced reporting tools).

  • Document lessons learned from campaigns and analyses to improve workflows.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement of dashboards, templates, and survey tools.

  • Participate in workshops/conferences in conjunction with partners.

3) Shared Services Delivery (Cross-Functional)

  • Uphold service line agreements: at least 95% of deadlines met; requests acknowledged within 1 business day, ETAs in 2 days.

  • Maintain visible intake/status tracking for analyses and data requests.

  • Collaborate with Data & IT, College Access & Completion, and Development to align analyses and data requests.

4) Data Systems, Privacy & Dashboards

  • Maintain and update datasets used to generate R&E reports.

  • Support data audits to verify data validity and accuracy.

  • Ensure compliance with privacy/security standards in all data collection and reporting.

5) Regional Goals Enablement

  • Support regional teams in tracking and achieving FY 25/26 goals: dosage, attendance, retention, SEL, D/F reduction, graduation, college-going, persistence, and transfer.

  • Provide site-level data and insights that enable program improvements.

  • Deliver training support (e.g., data literacy, survey administration) in collaboration with the Director.

Requirements 
Days & Hours:    

  • Monday to Friday, 8:30-5:00 pm. Occasional weekends and evenings

Work Environment:    

  • This position works out of the HQ office in Sacramento

Travel Frequency:    

  • Travel is required for organizational wide events and trainings

Physical Requirements:    

  • This role is in a stationary position 85% or more of the time

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree (in a related field) from an accredited university
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in quantitative and qualitative data analysis and reporting.
  • Experience with survey design, administration, and quality control procedures.
  • Formal program evaluation training preferred.

Computer Skills

  • High proficiency with Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drive), and Zoom for virtual collaboration.
  • Strong proficiency emphasis in Microsoft Excel, Salesforce, and statistical software (SPSS/Stata/R).
