Job description

Quality Engineering Technician (Entry Level)

Location: Tampa, FL 33634

Pay:  $20-$21/HR

Schedule: Monday–Friday 8am-5pm

Level: Entry-Level (No engineering degree required)

 
Overview

The Quality Engineering Technician supports both Engineering and Quality functions, working closely with Product Design Engineers and the Operations team. This role manages product flow and documentation within the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System and performs hands-on quality inspections on incoming parts. Ideal for someone organized, detail-oriented, comfortable with technical information, and eager to learn.

 
Key Responsibilities
  • Perform incoming quality inspections on parts

  • Compare parts to drawings, specifications, and OEM samples

  • Take and record measurements using basic inspection tools

  • Identify and document quality issues or discrepancies

  • Create and manage nonconformance reports (NCRs) and corrective actions

  • Communicate quality issues clearly to suppliers and provide supporting documentation

  • Follow up with suppliers until issues are fully resolved

  • Work closely with Engineering, Operations, Purchasing, and warehouse teams

  • Assist with engineering and quality-related documentation

  • Enter and maintain product and part information

  • Support new-product and product-change workflows

  • Track engineering requests, approvals, and open items

  • Maintain ISO 9001:2015 records and documentation

  • Review documents for accuracy and completeness

 
Qualifications
  • Strong attention to detail

  • Good organizational and follow-up skills

  • Ability to communicate professionally with suppliers

  • Comfortable working with technical documents, part numbers, drawings, and specifications

  • Basic Microsoft Excel, Word, and email skills

  • Ability to use measuring and inspection tools, or willingness to learn

  • Ability to work well with Engineering, Operations, Purchasing, and warehouse personnel

  • Good written and verbal communication skills

  • Willingness to learn products, processes, and the quality system

  • Experience with automotive parts, diesel engines, hydraulics, manufacturing, quality inspection, or parts distribution is helpful but not required
