Job description

Zawyer Sports, Jacksonville is seeking highly motivated, outgoing, and dedicated candidates for our Graphic Designer, Merchandise Position. Candidates should expect to build upon their work experience in the fast-paced, results driven world of the sports world.

Responsibilities
  • Design original artwork and graphics for apparel, headwear, promotional products, and accessories for both our own teams and our clients.
  • Own seasonal merch collections end-to-end, from concept sketches through final production-ready art files.
  • Prepare accurate tech packs, color separations, and spec sheets for manufacturing partners, accounting for screenprint, embroidery, and transfer production methods.
  • Incorporate feedback from merchandising, licensing, clients, and management to create multiple revisions of creative deliverables.
  • Research current trends in sports fashion, streetwear, and fan merchandise to inform new design directions.
  • Maintain organized design files, style guides, and version history for all active projects.
  • Ensure all designs adhere to brand standards and league/team/client licensing requirements.
  • Brainstorm, conceptualize, execute, iterate, and finalize multiple design projects simultaneously from start to completion.
  • Create product mockups and renderings for new merch designs ahead of production, for use in website, sales decks, client approvals, and marketing.
  • Design and maintain graphics for our Shopify storefront, including product listing images, banners, homepage assets, and promotional graphics for drops and campaigns.
  • Assist with partnership and retail proposals as needed.
  • Keep all sensitive matters confidential.
  • Meet deadlines and deliverables on time.
  • All other duties assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Strong graphic design and production capabilities, including at least 2-4 years' experience as a Designer, ideally in apparel or merchandise.
  • Working knowledge of apparel design and how screenprint, embroidery, and transfer production methods work, and how to design and spec artwork accordingly.
  • A strong portfolio demonstrating apparel and product design skills; sports or licensed merchandise experience is a plus.
  • Expertise using the Adobe Creative Cloud software (Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign); familiarity with Procreate is a bonus.
  • Solid understanding of color theory, typography, and layout fundamentals.
  • Understanding of textile printing techniques and fabric applications, and how they affect design decisions.
  • Ability to balance creativity with commercial viability and production feasibility.
  • Ability to work independently and manage projects from concept to production.
  • Flexibility in terms of handling a variety of assignments under tight deadlines while maintaining a strong focus on branding, consistency and quality.
  • Independent, creative problem-solver.
  • Highly organized, motivated and responsible with good time and project management abilities.
  • A team player with excellent interpersonal skills and a strong customer service orientation, comfortable interfacing directly with clients.
  • Comfortable working onsite and collaborating in person with cross-functional teams.
