Job description

Recently named by Newsweek as one of the Best American Mid-Sized Workplaces in 2026, Rohde & Schwarz is seeking an entry-level Inventory Coordinator based in our Frederick, MD facility. The Inventory Coordinator plays a crucial role in maintaining accurate inventory levels and ensuring materials are readily available to support production schedules. This entry-level position will focus on reducing inventory shortages, assisting with cycle counts, and creating accurate production traveler documents directly from our SAP system. This is a great opportunity to learn about supply chain management and contribute to a world-class manufacturing operation.
Your tasks
  • Inventory Monitoring & Control:Monitor inventory levels of raw materials, components, and finished goods to identify potential shortages and discrepancies.
  • Shortage Reduction:Proactively investigate and resolve material shortages, working with Procurement and Production Planning to expedite delivery or identify alternative solutions.
  • Cycle Counting Support:Assist with regular cycle counts and physical inventory audits to maintain inventory accuracy.
  • Production Traveler Creation:Generate and distribute accurate production traveler documents from SAP, and additional sources ensuring all necessary information and media is included for production personnel. (Training will be provided on SAP usage and label creation.)
  • SAP Data Maintenance:Assist with maintaining accurate material master data in SAP, including descriptions, units of measure, and storage locations.
  • Material Kitting:Support the kitting process by preparing material packages for production orders.
  • Inventory Organization:Maintain a clean and organized inventory storage area.
  • Documentation & Reporting:Assist with creating and maintaining inventory-related reports.
  • Communication:Communicate effectively with Production, Procurement, and other departments regarding inventory status and potential issues.

Your qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required. Associate's degree or some college coursework preferred.
  • Experience in a manufacturing or inventory control environment (internships considered).
  • Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.

The total compensation for this position is $25-$30 per hour. Total compensation includes base salary, variable pay (when applicable) plus benefits. The range is determined by the position, geographic location and level.
