Job description

Mayvin is seeking an Entry-Level Financial Analyst to support the U.S Marshals Serviceโ€™s (USMSโ€™s) Financial Services Division (FSD) at the Austin Processing Center (APC). The Financial Analyst will assist in various financial matters and will serve as a liaison with Federal Employees, Contractors, and Divisions across the U.S. Marshals Service.

Must be a U.S. Citizen

Must be able to undergo and pass a Tier 2 background investigation (BI)

Responsibilities:

  • Processes financial documents and transactions from designated Districts using the Unified Financial Management System (UFMS)
  • Reviews accounting practices to ensure compliance with other Federal laws and regulations (e.g., Single Audit Act), generally accepted Government accounting practices, and relevant Office Management and Budget circulars
  • Identifies corrective actions for improper or illegal expenditures and accounting funds
  • Reviews and analyzes annual financial statements to ensure compliance with laws, regulations, program policies, and procedures
  • Demonstrates proficiency in spreadsheet and word processing software and general knowledge of financial statements

Qualifications:

  • Four-year undergraduate degree in Business Administration, Finance, or Accounting
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience with financial, budgetary or a related field
  • Superior attention to detail
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite with superior Excel skills (V-lookup, Pivot Tables, etc.)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
