The Industrial Power Systems team is seeking a motivated, experienced applications engineer to provide support to our Power Controller team located at ADI's RTP campus. The ideal candidate will support development and validation of TLVR for CPU/GPU applications, as well as provide customer support for end use applications. New team members have a chance to grow an emerging team at this location and build a strong power applications group with great career potential.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
  • Develop DC-DC digital core power conversion hardware
  • Collaborate with IC design team on part development
  • Road-test functionality on new power platforms
  • Design and test evaluation boards for internal and customer use
  • Work with Field Application Engineers to solve customer challenges
  • Write technical articles for internal and industry publications
  • Synthesis of formulas and models for circuit behavior
  • Assume leadership and mentoring role within team
  • Supervise and direct lab activities of recent graduate engineers
  • Specifying and qualifying new lab equipment purchases for team

Minimum qualifications
  • Masters in EE or ECE (or equivalent experience)
  • Experience with digital power systems (PMBUS/SVID/SVI3 registers)
  • Python scripting for automated validation
  • Soldering/board level debugging skills
  • Experience using electronic lab test equipment

Preferred qualifications
  • Strong organization, team leadership, and work ethic
  • Good communication and technical presentation skills
  • Modeling of switch-mode power conversion and dynamics
  • Ability to use AI tools to accelerate product development cycle
