Job description

PHASOR Engineering Inc. is a dynamic Alberta based company specializing in engineering, design, and testing / commissioning of high voltage electrical facilities. Our focus is to incorporate the latest technological advances, such as IEC 61850, to provide the most cost-effective and efficient solutions to power system engineering. This focus allows us to be involved in a diverse range of projects from preliminary engineering through to the commissioning and startup.

We are currently seeking a highly motivated Civil Engineer EIT to join our team on a full-time basis in our Calgary and Burnaby office. We offer a dynamic work environment with an extremely experienced technical team, where you will be continuously challenged in all aspects of the engineering and design process.
Responsibilities:

· Work within a project team of engineers and designers in our Civil Group.

· Detailed technical knowledge of structural engineering design including steel and concrete structures, shallow and deep foundations.

· Knowledge of Civil works including site preparation, earthworks and retaining walls.

· Adequate knowledge of applicable Canadian codes and standards.

· Proficient on software applicable to structural engineering design such as STAAD-Pro

· as well as experience with AutoCAD.

· Strong understanding of safety in design principles.

· Ability to lead a small to medium size design project from start to completion with minimal oversight.

· Ability to mentor / provide technical guidance to less experienced engineers.

· Results-oriented and self-driven individual with experience juggling multiple projects and meeting project deadlines.

· Strong and confident communicator with excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to write clear and concise documents and be able to clearly explain technical information and concepts to internal and external parties.

· Client-focused – attending client meetings and maintaining good working relationships with Clients.

Requirements

Qualifications:

· The successful candidate should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.

· Minimum 2 years of relevant Civil/ Structural engineering experience.

  • Knowledge of the Microsoft office software suite of programs.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and an attention to detail are essential.
  • Able to work effectively both independently and as a member of a team.
