Job description

The Transformer Services Manager is responsible for leading and managing field service operations related to transformer installation, maintenance, testing, and repair. This role oversees field personnel, ensures customer satisfaction, drives safety and compliance, and manages project execution from planning to completion. The ideal candidate has deep technical knowledge of power transformers and experience supervising field teams on site at client facilities.

Project Coordination:

  • Plan, schedule, and execute transformer field service projects, ensuring on-time and within-budget delivery.
  • Coordinate with engineering, logistics, procurement, and customer teams.
  • Develop scopes of work, project plans, and risk mitigation strategies.

Team Supervision:

  • Manage, train, and support field service technicians and engineers.
  • Ensure workforce scheduling aligns with workload and customer demand.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and promote technical excellence.

Customer Interface:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customers during field service engagements.
  • Address client inquiries, resolve issues, and ensure satisfaction.
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships to drive repeat business.

Technical Oversight:

  • Provide technical guidance on transformer assembly, insulating fluid filling, maintenance, testing, commissioning, and failure analysis.
  • Ensure quality control standards are met across all field activities.

Compliance & Safety:

  • Enforce adherence to safety standards, OSHA regulations, and company policies.
  • Lead root cause analyses for any field incidents or equipment failures.
  • Maintain environmental and regulatory compliance.

Financial Analysis:

  • Track project costs and contribute to budget planning.
  • Approve field service expenses and ensure cost efficiency.
  • Assist in developing service pricing and proposals.

Sales:

  • Support sales by identifying service opportunities.
  • Provide input on service offerings, tools, and process improvements.
  • Assist in the development of long-term growth strategies for transformer services.
