Power Components Assembler

1st Shift

The opportunity:

Hitachi Energy in Alamo, TN is looking for a Power Components Assembler to join our team. This is an entry-level position that will follow all safety and work procedures to stock parts, visually inspect parts and components, assemble from drawings or bill of materials, wire panels and switches, perform mechanical or electrical tests and package de-energized tap changers and power transformer components.

How you'll make an impact:

  • Utilize drill pressures, fixtures, torque wrenches and automated tightening equipment

  • De-energize tap changers and power transformer components

  • Package materials to meet internal procedures and specifications, industry standards, and customer requirements

  • Handle assembly materials, some being hazardous, such as ethyl alcohol, cleaning solutions, gaskets, O-rings, machined components (aluminum, copper, brass, stainless steel), zinc oxide discs, epoxy compounds, fiberglass, cardboard packaging, and wood crates

  • Work within a team structure with minimal supervision on routine tasks

  • Continuously train on new equipment and processes within the power components area

  • Read and comprehend safety procedures, work instructions, assembly drawings and wiring schematics

  • Operate and learn specialized internal programs needed to perform job functions

Your Background:

  • Associate, technical degree or certification in industrial engineering, mechanical engineering or related

  • Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.

  • One year of experience in a manufacturing assembly setting preferred

  • Able to regularly pick up and manipulate up to 40lbs safely
