Job description

We have an immediate opportunity for a Planner/Designer 1.  This position will plan/design overhead and underground power distribution projects for Edison (SCE).  The ideal candidate will support the technical and engineering department.  This position will work a hybrid schedule.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Plan and design of Overhead and Underground power infrastructure
  • Pole loading calculations
  • Interpret field sheets (PLW)
  • Produce drawings as per project schedule commitment date

Requirements:

  • Experience utilizing Bluebeam
  • Clear understanding of GO95 and utilities rules
  • Overcurrent Protection (OCP) knowledge
  • 2 years plus with Electrical Distribution planner experience
  • Survey experience a plus
  • Experience with building poles using WO map templates
  • Ability to utilize Spida, SAP, and Geoview software
  • Double check all work, accuracy is a must
  • Ability to work overtime as needed
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Must be able to pass a drug and background check
