On-Air Talent / Streamer – Pokémon TCG

You know the chase cards. You recognize the set before someone finishes saying the name. You know when a pull is actually big and when everyone in chat is about to lose their minds. But knowing Pokémon is only half the job. Can you make people want to hang out with you while you rip it?

Backyard Breaks is building out our TCG live channel, and we’re looking for high-energy, knowledgeable, naturally entertaining On-Air Talent to become the personalities behind it. We’re launching with Pokémon, so strong Pokémon TCG knowledge is essential. If you also know Magic: The Gathering, One Piece, Lorcana, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Dragon Ball, or other TCGs, even better. We want people who understand the larger hobby and can grow with the channel as we do.

This is live entertainment. There’s no script, there’s no second take.

The camera turns on, the chat starts moving, and the room is yours.

What You’ll Do

• Host live Pokémon TCG breaks and shows
• Open product live while keeping the audience entertained, informed, and engaged
• Bring genuine excitement to big hits, chase cards, unexpected pulls, and memorable moments
• Talk naturally about Pokémon sets, products, characters, cards, rarity, and the hobby
• Keep conversation moving even when the biggest hit hasn’t shown up yet
• Read and engage with live chat throughout the show
• Welcome new viewers while building relationships with returning members of the community
• Explain products and breaks clearly so viewers understand what’s happening
• Help create the personality, traditions, recurring bits, and culture of a brand-new Backyard channel
• Stay current on Pokémon TCG releases, trends, chase cards, and what collectors are talking about
• Work closely with Co-Pilots and the broader live team to keep every broadcast moving
• Maintain Backyard’s standards for professionalism, energy, and on-air presence
• Create moments people want to clip, share, and come back for

You’ll Crush This Role If You…

• You Know Pokémon.

This cannot be something you started researching because you saw the job posting.

You should already understand the Pokémon TCG world; the products, sets, chase cards, characters, collector behavior, and excitement surrounding the hobby.

You don't have to know absolutely everything.

But when something incredible comes out of a pack, we shouldn't have to explain to you why everyone is screaming.

• You Have Presence.

When you talk, people listen.

Maybe you're funny. Maybe you're chaotic. Maybe you're the encyclopedia. Maybe you're the storyteller. Maybe you're ridiculously competitive.

We aren't looking for every host to have the same personality.

We're looking for people who have one.

• You Can Carry a Live Show.

Not every pack contains a monster hit. Great streamers don't need one.

You can create conversation, interact with chat, tell stories, talk TCG, react naturally, and keep people entertained through the entire broadcast.

• You Actually Like People.

Our community isn't a viewer count. They're the show.

You remember names. You respond to chat. You recognize regulars. You welcome the person who wandered in five minutes ago.

You know how to make somebody feel like they're in the room with you, even when they're watching through a screen.

• You're Comfortable Being Unscripted.

Live means live. Things go wrong. Conversations take weird turns. Something hilarious happens that nobody planned.

You can roll with it. You're Coachable.

Great on-air personalities develop over time.

You'll get feedback on pacing, product knowledge, audience engagement, presentation, show flow, and performance, and we want someone hungry enough to use it.

This Probably Isn't for You If…

• Pokémon is something you only vaguely remember from childhood
• Being on camera makes you uncomfortable
• You need a script to keep a conversation going
• You can talk about cards but struggle to connect with people
• You'd rather quietly open packs than entertain the room
• You tune out when chat gets busy
• Feedback feels personal instead of useful
• You want a traditional 9-to-5 desk job

This isn't somebody opening Pokémon cards while a camera happens to be nearby.

You're hosting a show.

The Schedule

Backyard broadcasts throughout the day, so our TCG talent team will work across multiple on-air windows.

Current broadcast shifts are:

Morning: 7:00 AM – 1:00 PM

Afternoon: 1:00 PM – 7:00 PM

Night: 7:00 PM – 1:00 AM

Shifts are six hours, with current rotations generally consisting of five shifts per week, depending on the assigned schedule.

Who We Are

Backyard Breaks is built around live entertainment, sports, cards, collectors, and community.

We've built our audience by understanding something simple:

People may show up because of the cards.

They come back because of the personalities.

Now we're bringing that same energy into TCG. This isn't about recreating our sports-card channels with Pokémon packs on the table. We want to build a TCG community with its own personalities, its own culture, its own moments, and its own stars. And the people we hire now will help define what that becomes.

• How deep you are in the Pokémon TCG hobby
• What you collect, play, buy, sell, or follow
• Which other TCGs you know
• Any streaming, content creation, sales, hosting, performance, or live entertainment experience you have
• Where we can find you online, if you're already creating content

And if we move forward?

Expect to get on camera.
