Job description

We are seeking an experienced, reliable, and self-motivated Pipe Layer / Utility Laborer to join our excavation team. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience installing underground utilities, can read and interpret construction plans, understands grade and elevations, and can perform work with minimal supervision.

This is not an entry-level position. We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, shows up every day, works safely, and understands what needs to be done without constant direction.


Responsibilities

  • Install storm, sewer, water, and utility pipe according to plans and specifications.
  • Read and interpret construction drawings, utility plans, and grade stakes.
  • Work with excavator operators to safely and efficiently install underground utilities.
  • Verify pipe alignment, grade, and elevations.
  • Perform trench preparation, bedding, backfill, and compaction.
  • Set structures including catch basins, manholes, vaults, and utility boxes.
  • Follow safety requirements for trenching, excavation, and utility installation.
  • Assist with site preparation, grading, and general labor duties as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and organized job site.
  • Communicate effectively with operators, foremen, inspectors, and subcontractors.
