POSITION OVERVIEW

Title: Assistant Golf Professional

Reports to: Head Golf Professional

Supervises: Golf Operations Staff

Position Description: The Assistant Golf Professional oversee and manage the golf operations including the golf shop, golf cart operations, outside services, as well as promoting and directing daily play and all golf activities in coordination with other departments. The position will maintain and continuously improve upon the existing high standards of quality and service by delivering The Country Club at Castle Pines Mission Statement.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Assists in the hire, train/develop, and supervise of all golf personnel including the golf shop attendants and outside staff.

  • Motivate and develop staff including training and development opportunities, cross training, and promotion of personnel.

  • Represent the Club in professional events including local, state, or national events with the approval of the GM/COO.

  • Playing - The Club’s competitive spirit traditionally carries over to Section professional tournaments. Represent the club on a competitive level, and in the highest manner becoming of a professional.

  • Ensure that golf shop policies and procedures are updated and adhered to and that job descriptions are updated and posted.

  • Maintain safety standards and safety equipment within OSHA standards.

  • Club Repair/Club Fitting- Provide professional club repair and club fitting services to members.

  • Course play- Oversee the reservation system, starting, and monitoring of play and pace while enforcing the established rules and regulations governing the use of the golf course. Maintain accurate record keeping of rounds and guest fees.

  • Member programs - lead and coordinate all facets of player development initiatives with an emphasis on supporting members, while creating new customers/golfers and generating business. Develop the annual business plan to include targeted focus on providing programs for women, families, seniors and juniors.

  • Golf Shop Merchandise - administration and responsibility for operating a retail golf operation for the benefit of the membership to include:

      • Presenting a diverse and desirable array of golf equipment and apparel with efficiency and pleasing aesthetics.

      • Supervising special-order program to maximize member service.

      • Maintain an attractive, orderly appearance in the golf shop.


Additional Duties/Responsibilities of the Position

  • Welcome and greet/meet members, and guests.

  • Play golf with male and female and junior (children) members of all skill-levels.

  • Oversee and manage an organized and orderly practice facility.

  • Manage all golf related assets such as golf carts, range equipment, and electronic equipment.

  • Oversee all golf services and operations, golf cart fleet, and staff.

  • Bag storage- Ensure the proper storage, safety, cleaning, and repair or member club equipment.

  • Assist in the publication of newsletters, informational and promotional materials.
