Brookhaven Animal Hospital is seeking an experienced Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) to join our collaborative, client-centered small animal practice in Atlanta, GA.
This is a skilled, hands-on clinical role designed for credentialed technicians who are confident in anesthesia, surgery, and veterinary dentistry and are looking to practice at a high level within a supportive general practice environment.
 This is not an entry-level position. Candidates must have completed an AVMA-accredited Veterinary Technology program and successfully passed the VTNE, with proven clinical experience in a veterinary setting.

Patient Care & Anesthesia
  •  Administer medications (IV, SQ, IM, oral) as prescribed 
  •  Perform venipuncture and IV catheter placement confidently 
  •  Prepare patients for surgery and dental procedures 
  •  Monitor anesthesia (induction maintenance recovery) 
  •  Track vitals and ensure patient comfort for hospitalized cases 
Surgery & Veterinary Dentistry
  •  Assist veterinarians during surgical procedures 
  •  Perform and support dental prophylaxis (cleanings)
  •  Capture high-quality dental radiographs
  •  Maintain sterile technique and surgical prep standards 
  •  Clean, sterilize, and maintain surgical/dental instruments 
Diagnostics & Imaging
  •  Perform in-house lab work (CBC, chemistry, urinalysis, fecals) 
  •  Assist with digital radiography (positioning, safety, quality) 
  •  Prepare and submit diagnostic samples 
Client Communication & Education
  •  Guide clients through post-op care, medications, and dental health 
  •  Support admissions and discharges with clear instructions 
  •  Deliver compassionate, confident communication 
Team Collaboration & Medical Records
  •  Maintain accurate, detailed medical records (PIMS) 
  •  Partner closely with DVMs and support staff 
  •  Contribute to workflow efficiency and team success 
  •  Participate in ongoing training and skill development 
Required Qualifications
  • Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT/RVT/CVT)
  •  Graduate of an AVMA-accredited Veterinary Technology program
  • VTNE successfully completed
  •  Minimum 1-2+ years of hands-on clinical experience in veterinary medicine 
Core Technical Skills
  •  Advanced anesthesia monitoring and recovery
  •  Surgical assisting in a clinical setting 
  • Venipuncture and IV catheter placement
  •  Experience with dental prophylaxis and dental radiography
Preferred Experience
  •  High-quality small animal general practice background 
  •  Familiarity with veterinary software (PIMS) 
  •  Interest in dentistry, anesthesia, or surgical advancement
