Varying, as needed or per diem, schedule within clinic hours of Monday through Friday 8am-4:30pm. No holidays or weekends - TRAVEL IS REQUIRED as far as Sheboygan and as far south as Racine. Mileage is reimbursed.

Job Description Summary:

Assists physician/clinician in documenting details of the patient visit via the electronic medical record, and performs other related clerical duties to increase physician/clinician effectiveness, efficiency, and productivity for improved patient flow and satisfaction. Effectively communicates and ensures the patient's clear understanding of the scribe role, in order to enhance the patient's experience and comfort level.

We're Looking For:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Typically requires 1 year of experience in medical assisting, medical transcription, emergency medical services, patient service and/or as a health care professional with demonstrated proficiency in medical terminology and technical spelling.

What You'll Do:

As a Medical Scribe, you'll play a vital role in the care team - supporting providers, connecting with patients, and helping ensure a seamless, compassionate experience every day.

As a key member of the ambulatory care team, you will execute:

  • Pre-Visit: Preparation: Assemble patient charts, retrieve external records, and gather test results before visits.
  • Real-Time Documentation: Accompany clinicians during exams to transcribe visits into the EHR using precise medical terminology.
  • Order Entry: Pend labs, imaging, medications, and referrals with appropriate diagnoses for clinician approval.
  • Chart Completion: Update patient histories, enter follow-up instructions, and submit final records for physician sign-off.
  • Clinical Assistance: Measure vital signs, room patients, and assist with non-sterile procedures as needed.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

  • Exposed to a normal medical office environment.
  • Position requires travel; therefore may be exposed to severe weather or road conditions.
  • Must have functional speech, vision, hearing, and touch with ability to use fine-hand manipulation skills.
  • May need to occasionally lift/carry up to 20 lbs.
  • May be exposed to the following hazards: mechanical, electrical, chemical, blood and body fluids; therefore must wear protective clothing and equipment as needed.
