Their responsibilities often include helping clients with bathing, dressing, eating, mobility, and light housekeeping. PCAs work under supervision, usually in clients’ homes or residential care facilities, to ensure safety and improve quality of life for those with disabilities, chronic illnesses, or age-related conditions. Entry level positions typically require minimal formal education, but on-the-job training is common. Compassion, patience, and good communication skills are important qualities for this role.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an entry level PCA?

To thrive as an Entry Level PCA, you need basic caregiving knowledge, a high school diploma or equivalent, and often CPR/First Aid certification.
