Job description

Peoplelink Staffing Solutions has partnered with Huhtamaki in Coleman, MI to fill packer positions.
Huhtamaki manufactures food grade plastic containers, such as plastic cups, lids, bowls & plates. These products are distributed to retail stores across the country.
Pay Rate:
$14.50/hr.
Huhtamaki is a 24/7 operation - overtime may be required, which may include 12-hour shifts, as well as weekends.
Shifts - 1st, 2nd, & 3rd
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
This list is not all encompassing and other duties may be assigned -
  • Perform all tasks in a safe manner and adhere to all safety policies/procedures.
  • Read specifications prior to inspecting and packing any product.
  • Construct and assemble boxes and stage them for use.
  • Insert bag liners into boxes before packing.
  • Accurately count parts, or stacks of parts, prior to bagging or packing.
  • Inspect bags for holes, oil, proper sealing, etc. prior to packing.
  • Pack finished product according to the approved packaging specification.
  • Label completed boxes prior to removal from the pack area.
  • Transport completed pallets to wrapper-conveyor and/or the wrapper staging area.
Qualifications:
  • Ability to maintain regular attendance & punctuality is a MUST.
  • High school graduate or GED equivalent preferred but not required.
  • Able to lift 30 pounds on a regular basis with no assistance.
  • Occasionally lift 30 pounds above shoulder height.
  • Stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, squat, and crouch.
  • Reach above, at, below, and to the side, while twisting body and twisting at waist.
  • Pull non-powered pallet jacks while loaded with up to 1000 lbs of material.
  • Grip small pieces/parts
  • Twist hands at wrist while gripping and/or carrying items.
