Job description

At Fleet Farm, delivering an exceptional customer experience starts with having the right products available when our customers need them. As an Inventory Analyst, you'll play a critical role in ensuring the right inventory is in the right place at the right time by managing purchase orders, monitoring inventory levels, and supporting the flow of merchandise across our stores and distribution centers.
This is more than an inventory role-it's an opportunity to launch a long-term career in merchandising. We're intentionally evolving this position into a developmental role with a defined career path into Vendor Analyst and Merchandise Planner. If you enjoy working with data, solving problems, collaborating across teams, and continuously improving processes, we'd love to hear from you.
What You'll Do
  • Generate and manage purchase orders based on system forecasts and inventory needs.
  • Monitor purchase orders from creation through delivery to ensure timely product availability.
  • Manage inventory levels across Fleet Farm stores and distribution centers.
  • Prepare inventory allocations to support store demand and new product launches.
  • Review forecasts, inventory positions, and replenishment exceptions to maintain optimal inventory levels.
  • Support promotional and seasonal events by ensuring advertised products remain in stock.
  • Maintain replenishment system settings to drive accurate purchasing and inventory performance.
  • Utilize Oracle queries, Retail Management System (RMS), and ThinkTime to analyze inventory and support business decisions.
  • Partner with Merchants, Merchandise Planners, Supply Chain, Distribution Centers, and vendors to maintain inventory accuracy and product availability.
  • Identify inventory trends and recommend process improvements that enhance efficiency and customer service.

What We're Looking For
We're seeking someone who is naturally curious, analytical, and detail-oriented. The ideal candidate enjoys working with large datasets, solving problems, and learning how a retail merchandising organization operates.
Qualifications
Required
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Analytics, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • 1-3 years of experience in inventory management, replenishment, purchasing, merchandising, supply chain, logistics, planning, or business analytics.
  • Retail or distribution experience.
  • Experience with inventory planning or ERP systems such as Oracle Retail Management System (RMS), Oracle Demand Planning, SAP/APO, JDA/Blue Yonder, Manugistics, or similar platforms.
  • APICS certification or other supply chain or forecasting certifications are a plus.

Why Fleet Farm?
This role offers a unique opportunity to build a rewarding career in merchandising. You'll gain exposure to inventory planning, vendor management, retail operations, forecasting, and cross-functional business partnerships while developing the skills needed to grow into future merchandising leadership roles.
Career Path:
Inventory Analyst → Vendor Analyst → Merchandise Planner
If you're ready to build your analytical skills and make an impact on the products our customers rely on every day, we'd love to have you join the Fleet Farm team.
