Job description

PLX Inc, a Luxium Solutions company is a precision optics manufacturer supporting aerospace, defense, and scientific markets. We specialize in high-performance optical components and assemblies and take pride in quality, craftsmanship, and developing talent from the ground up.

We are seeking two Entry- Level Optical Polishers who are self-motivated individuals to add to our growing team of Optical Technicians. In this position, you will set up, operate, and maintain various spindle polishing machines to perform precision beveling, grinding, lapping and polishing of optical materials to close tolerances.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Must have mechanical aptitude and comfort working with tools or machinery
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
  • Basic math and measurement skills
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident; we deal in controlled information.
  • Must be fluent in the English Language
Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with grinding, polishing, and finishing optical components to specification
  • Set up and operate polishing equipment under supervision
  • Handle delicate optical parts safely and accurately
  • Perform basic inspections using measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges)
  • Follow work instructions, travelers, and quality procedures
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Adhere to safety and quality standards at all times
