Job description

Job Title: Machinists Location: Lancaster, PA Type: Contract (potential for hire) Work Model: Onsite Hours: 1st Shift - Monday through Friday 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Weekend Shift - Friday through Sunday 6:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Responsibilities

  • Set up, operate, and monitor a variety of precision machining equipment including grinding, slicing, drilling, milling, and CNC-based operations.
  • Maintain dimensional accuracy and surface finish to required tolerances, typically ranging from .0008 to below .0005 depending on role level.
  • Perform machine adjustments, tool changes, and basic program edits as required.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, quality, and process-related issues; assist with root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Inspect parts using precision measuring instruments to ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Collaborate with Quality and Engineering to resolve production or quality concerns.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts by identifying efficiency, quality, and safety opportunities.
  • Assist with preventive and autonomous maintenance activities to ensure equipment reliability.
  • Train, mentor, and support Operators and entry-level Machinists as appropriate to role level.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, quality, and production standards.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Machinist I: Typically, 1+ years of machining or manufacturing experience.
  • Machinist II: Typically, 2+ years of machining experience with demonstrated ability to hold tighter tolerances.
  • CNC operation experience preferred; G-code/M-code programming required for Machinist II roles.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, and quality documentation.
  • Proficiency using precision measuring tools.
