Job description

Job Summary

Colostrum Production Operator 1 is responsible for entry level tasks while working toward completing training and demonstrating mastery of the processes covered in production training packets. Below are some of the main task's associated with the Operator one position.

Essential Functions
  • Maintain a clean safe work environment.
  • Dumping of frozen colostrum, powder, and other ingredients needed for the batches.
  • Cleaning and sanitizing of buckets, barrels, and other containers as needed.
  • Packaging powder in the Dryer and Blending areas.
  • Cleaning the outside of tanks and equipment.
  • Perform cleaning tasks from the Master Sanitation Schedule that include items like foaming, fogging, and scrubbing drains, walls, and ceilings.
  • Training to operate specific pieces of equipment and, once signed off, operating them independently.
  • Handling cleaning chemicals in accordance with the SDS and always using proper PPE.
  • Understand and fill out master batch records correctly and completely.
  • Adhere to all GMP's and SOP's.
  • Follow all safety guidelines.
  • Standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day.
  • Frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds.
  • Cross-training and working in other departments as needed.
  • Utilizes GPS processes, driving zero losses and upholds the culture of Aps BioGroups non-negotiables.
  • Each employee shall comply with occupational safety and health standards and all rules, regulations, and orders issued pursuant to the Occupational Safety and Health Act which are applicable to his/her own actions and conduct.
  • Complies with all applicable food safety regulations and mandates. (Food Safety Modernization Act- FSMA, Safe Quality Foods, Food and Drug Admin, Pasteurized Milk Ordinance).

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, handle multiply projects simultaneously and delegate assignments to others.
  • Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures. Report all unsafe activities to supervisor and/or Human Resources.
  • Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.

  • May be exposed to loud noise levels (i.e. manufacturing equipment).
  • May be exposed to humidity, intense heat, and areas with possible air contamination, fumes and toxic chemicals.
  • May work in areas with mechanical moving parts, above ground with risk of fall, or areas with risk of electrical shock.
