Job Description:
Indeck Energy Services is looking for an individual with combined cycle power plant experience to fill an immediate position in our Olean, NY location. This position entails work with boilers, high-pressure steam, gas, and steam turbines. Strong mechanical, welding, and/or electrical ability is a plus. We're dedicated to providing communities with reliable power using environmentally sound approaches. Since 1985, Indeck Energy has developed, financed, managed the construction, owned and operated numerous power generation facilities across the United States and abroad. We continue to own and operate a large majority of these plants. Duties:
  • Inspect, adjust and control all power production auxiliary and facility equipment to assure safe, legal, continuous, and efficient operation. Knowledge of gas and steam turbines is required.ย 
  • Communicate effectively and accurately using both oral and written methods of communication.
  • Make repairs, where qualified and assist others in making repairs to all equipment.
  • Perform assigned tasks in the analyzing and control of treated water. Take necessary action to maintain the systems within prescribed limits.
  • Perform cleaning duties as assigned or required.
  • Take actions necessary to prevent any environmental excursions.
  • Continually checks all phases of the operation for difficulties or irregularities, troubleshooting as necessary.
  • Maintains journals, logs, maintenance and equipment records, and various reports.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor. Assignments may include maintenance at other Indeck facilities.

Physical Environment:
  • The job involves standing, walking, climbing ladders and scaffolding, working from elevations, heavy lifting, and the use of tools.
  • Work with high-pressure and hot steam and water lines, chemicals, and chemical equipment.
  • Work in cramped or awkward positions at times. May be required to work outside in inclement weather conditions.
  • Exposed to noise and a hot work environment. Work in a confined space when necessary.
  • Work is performed on a rotating swing shift. The shift may be changed on occasion.ย 
  • Availability for overtime work assignments is required.
  • The job requires constant attentiveness and awareness. Extreme pressure may exist in the event of an equipment failure.

Requirements:
  • High School Diploma (minimum requirement).
  • Experience in High Voltage and/or Instrumentation and Controls maintenance preferred.
  • Military veterans who possess experience in electrical generation/I&C maintenance are a plus.
  • Power plant experience is a plus.
  • Must be able to work in the United States without employer support or sponsorship.
  • The use of respirators and other safety equipment is required.
