Field Technician I

Field Operations entails executing those tasks and assignments associated with collecting data away from the office environment, overseeing the work of colleagues or contractors away from the office environment, and the performance of specific environmental duties with the express purpose of meeting the requirements of staff project managers. Most tasks and assignments are delivered in the form of “Field Work Orders”.

Field Technician I generally work in a team setting with a more senior technician, specialist, or project manager. Tasks assigned for independent work include:
Groundwater Monitoring
Disposal
Essential Job Functions:
Work Safely
Take quality notes in the field
Execute field work orders
Calibrate/operate field instruments
Maintain vehicle fleet
Complete and support tasks under supervision of experienced field technician
Read and understand Field Work Orders
Communicate with project managers
Collect information and data in a prescribed fashion and consistent with OES’ protocols and procedures
Report “unusual” or “inconsistent” observations to project managers directly
“Ask questions” if unsure
All other duties as assigned
Teamwork:
Participate in team planning, status, and other meetings
Participate in team functions as applicable
Participate in Safety Training programs
