Job description

As a high-performing solar and electrical services provider, Better Earth depends on top-tier electricians to maintain the quality, safety, and efficiency of our residential service upgrades. The Main Panel Upgrade Electrician is responsible for executing main panel replacements, upgrades, and relocations. This role requires strong technical knowledge, precision, and the ability to troubleshoot solar and electrical systems with confidence. The ideal candidate is experienced, detail-oriented, and a reliable team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and customer interaction skills are essential for success in this role.
Responsibilities:

  • Perform residential main panel upgrades from 100-400 amps up to code and safety standards
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical and solar system issues efficiently
  • Collect data and photos throughout each project and submit detailed work orders
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work site at all times
  • Meet project timelines and stay within assigned budgets
  • Professionally communicate with customers and address questions or concerns on-site
  • Tie in and commission solar systems
  • Review upcoming job photos and project plans ahead of scheduled MPUs
  • Collaborate with the warehouse team to ensure materials are ready and accurate
  • Perform minor stucco and drywall repairs as needed post-installation
  • Help with solar related services outside MPUs on days that no MPU is taking place


Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Valid CA Journeyman Electrician License
  • Minimum of 1 year of residential electrical experience, including main panel upgrades
  • Strong understanding of NEC, electrical codes, and residential electrical systems
  • Familiarity with solar system tie-ins and commissioning preferred
  • Capable of working independently and problem-solving in the field
  • Comfortable using technology for submitting work orders and project updates
  • Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a professional and respectful demeanor toward customers
  • Perform stucco and drywall repairs as needed post-installation
