The Superintendent at CMD Electric is responsible for the installation and implementation of large-scale electrical projects. This role requires overseeing project activities, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards, managing labor and materials, and maintaining effective communication with all stakeholders to ensure successful project completion.


  • Provide leadership and management for safety and environmental programs. Monitor job costing, quality reporting, forecasting, and productivity.
  • Coordinate all labor, materials, and equipment for projects.
  • Complete field administration tasks, including timesheets, quantity reports, purchases, and job diaries.
  • Organize and coordinate all subcontractor activities.
  • Implement and monitor construction plans, including scheduling and logistics.
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop field personnel, including managing a team of 15+ electricians.
  • Participate in all field work activities and be willing to work with tools when necessary.
  • Collaborate with support departments such as prefabrication, purchasing, and accounting.
  • Ensure all work meets NEC, federal, state, county, and local codes, as well as contract documents.
  • Maintain high standards of productivity, safety, and quality control.
  • Establish and monitor project goals consistently.
  • Utilize our Pre-Fab facility and follow standardized installation methods.
  • Anticipate potential problems and take proactive measures.
  • Maintain accurate "as-builts" as per CMD Electric procedures.
  • Implement CMD Electric’s Affirmative Action Policy and Unlawful Harassment Prevention.
  • Ensure compliance with CMD Electric’s safety policies and procedures, including self-protective verification, lockout/tag-out, assured grounding, and start-up and energizing policies.
  • Conduct effective performance evaluations of crew members.
  • Communicate effectively with various stakeholders, including project owners, architects, general contractors, and management.
  • Adhere to CMD Electric’s Employee Handbook and Code of Business Ethics.

  • California General Electrician Journeyman License
  • Proven track record of delivering safe projects on schedule and within budget.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to perform a variety of tasks under multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite.
  • Excellent knowledge of building codes.
  • Preferred certifications: OSHA 30, CPR, First Aid.

Physical Demands & Requirements:

Lift 50 lbs from the ground and exert 50 lbs of force. Engage in activities such as climbing ladders, pulling wires, and handling conduits. Execute full squats, stoops, or kneels while equipped with a 25 lb tool belt. Sustain a standing posture for extended durations, undertaking repetitive actions like grasping or manipulating wires. Operate from ladders, man lifts, or reach booms. Work in various environmental conditions, depending on job location and time of year (heat, cold, rain, snow).Utilize construction site sanitary facilities (Porta-Johns).Wear personal protective equipment (hard hat, safety glasses, and gloves) always, and respirator when required.
