This role will support CCI's Natural Gas business by managing daily and intraday pipeline nominations, confirmations, balancing activities, and operational coordination across regional pipeline systems.
The ideal candidate will bring strong attention to detail, a commercial mindset, and the ability to operate effectively in a fast paced trading environment. This individual will work closely with traders, originators, operations, risk, accounting, counterparties, pipelines, and internal support teams to ensure accurate and timely scheduling of physical natural gas transactions.
Responsibilities

  • Coordinate confirmations, cuts, imbalances, and operational changes with pipelines, counterparties, marketers, LDCs, producers, storage operators, and internal trading teams.
  • Monitor pipeline notices, OFOs, restrictions, maintenance events, capacity constraints, and other operational developments that may affect flow, pricing, or deliverability.
  • Work closely with traders to support physical gas optimization, including transportation, storage, pooling, park and loan, and capacity related activity.
  • Track scheduled volumes against trade capture systems and pipeline confirmations to identify and resolve discrepancies.
  • Assist with monthly close processes, including volume actualization, imbalance review, invoice support, and coordination with accounting and settlements.
  • Maintain accurate records of nominations, confirmations, capacity utilization, and operational activity.
  • Develop strong working knowledge of pipeline systems, including regional flow dynamics, tariff rules, nomination cycles, constraints, and market specific operational requirements.
  • Communicate timely operational updates to traders and stakeholders, especially during high volatility, weather events, constraints, or pipeline disruptions.
  • Support process improvement initiatives to enhance scheduling accuracy, reporting, automation, and operational controls.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, pipeline procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in rotating weekend and holiday coverage as needed.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, economics, energy management, engineering, supply chain, or a related field preferred.

  • Strong understanding of natural gas nomination cycles, confirmations, balancing, transportation contracts, storage, pooling, and pipeline capacity.
  • Familiarity with EBBs, pipeline tariffs, operational notices, and regional pipeline constraints.
  • Experience with ETRM systems and gas scheduling platforms preferred.
  • Strong Excel skills required. Exposure to automation, reporting tools, SQL, Python, or VBA is a plus.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage competing deadlines in a time sensitive environment.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with traders, counterparties, pipelines, accounting, risk, and technology teams.
  • Ability to work independently while remaining collaborative, responsive, and commercially aware.
  • Comfort operating in a fast paced physical commodity trading environment.
