Full-Time Retail Sales Associate

Location: The Music Shop - 56 Fanny Rd, Boonton, NJ 07005 (On-site)

About the Role

The Music Shop is seeking a friendly, motivated Full-Time Retail Sales Associate with a passion for music and strong communication skills to thrive in a fast-paced retail environment.

The ideal candidate is comfortable engaging with customers, has strong computer skills, possesses knowledge of band and/or orchestral musical instruments and products, This role requires 40 hours per week on site - Tuesday thru Saturday

Responsibilities

  • Retail Sales & Customer Service
    • Provide excellent customer service in person, phone, and email, especially during peak hours with high foot traffic
    • Assist customers with musical instrument, accessory, and equipment purchases
    • Process transactions and operate the cash register/POS system
    • Handle Cash, returns, exchanges, and customer inquiries
    • Stay up to date on product knowledge and new inventory
    • Maintain store cleanliness, merchandising, and an inviting storefront

Qualifications

  • Retail Experience
    • Previous musical retail experience preferred
    • Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
    • Basic knowledge of musical instruments, accessories, and equipment
    • Ability to multitask, stay organized, and manage time effectively
    • Self-starter with a passion for music and helping others
    • Team-oriented mindset with a willingness to collaborate
    • Eagerness to learn new skills and product knowledge
    • High School Diploma required; degree in Music or related field is a plus
    • Playing one or more musical instruments preferred

Compensation

This is a full-time, onsite role at The Music Shop in Boonton, NJ. Pay will be in the range of $22-$25 per hour, commensurate with experience. We offer a comprehensive and competitive benefits package, including:
