Position Summary:

Schmitt Music is seeking full, part-time or seasonal Musical Instrument Sales Associate for our Fargo, ND location. The purpose of this job is to provide excellent customer service, meet sales goals and help fill the world with music. The successful candidate will help fulfill our mission:ย  Enriching lives by helping people make music.

Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

A successful Musical Instrument Sales Associate has a background in music and the ability to work with a team. You will join a team of creative music professionals who are dedicated to serving our customers. Additional responsibilities include using point of sale system for sales, inventory and updating customer records, opening and closing the store, helping customers, restocking showroom and receiving inventory.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of music products and instruments required. Band and orchestra productknowledge required.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations tocustomers and other employees of the organization.
  • Superior organizational and follow-up skills to ensure responsibilities and goals aremet within defined deadlines.
  • Detail oriented, able to prioritize work while under pressure in a fast-pacedenvironment.
  • Effective and efficient knowledge of computers and Microsoft programs required.
  • Ability to work retail hours including evenings and weekends.
  • Valid Driver's License and background check required.

Work Environment:

  • Retail and office-type working conditions.
  • Physical Demands: The responsibilities of this position may frequently require using hands to finger, handle or feel, reaching with hands and arms, and talking or hearing. This position may often involve standing, walking and sitting. This position may sometimes involve climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling.
  • The person in this position:
  • May lift up to 20-30 pounds.
  • May occasionally be required to climb a ladder, bend over and kneel to put stock away and move and carry merchandise.
