Job description

This position is located at Marshall County Coal Resources in Cameron, West Virginia. We are seeking hard working, motivated individuals for an entry level mining position and is assigned to the underground mining operations.

If you are interested in pursuing a career in underground mining, we want you! MSHA training provided to successful candidates!

Pay Type: Hourly

Pay Range: $34.774/hour

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ability to communicate with all levels of mine management and co-workers
  • Ability to perform heavy labor
  • Visually inspect work area for potential hazards
  • Ability to perform fill-in duties for other workers as necessary
  • Able to work independently without supervision
  • Ability to organize and prioritize assigned tasks
  • Must safely, effectively, and efficiently work and respond to changing conditions within the mine
  • Must have the ability to learn the safe and efficient operation of underground mining equipment
  • Must ensure that body mechanics, equipment, and tools are utilized in a safe and responsible manner
  • Responsible for the safe and efficient production of coal and/or assistance in the production of coal in general work areas
  • Requires being reliable, responsible, and dependable, and fulfilling obligations
  • Must comply with company policies, federal and state laws, and regulatory standards

Experience

  • Prior experience in oil and gas industry, manufacturing, construction, industrial and/or a mechanical background, preferred
  • Familiarity with hand tools

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age
  • High School Diploma or GED, preferred
  • Reliable transportation
  • MSHA Certification (training available)
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Regular and punctual attendance
  • Must be able to work safely and effectively as part of a team or independently
  • Must be able to successfully pass a post offer drug test and background check
  • Must be able to successfully complete industry approved training courses
  • Ability to work in the United States without sponsorship

Job Schedule and Physical Demands

  • Must be able to work overtime, weekends and holidays as needed or as schedule requires (subject to applicant’s religious practices)
  • Must be able to work a rotating shift schedule on a 24/7 basis (subject to the applicant’s religious practices)
  • Ability/willingness to work any shift assigned
  • Ability to lift floor-to-waist and waist-to-overhead
  • Ability to push/pull as needed
  • Standing, bending, step climbing, crawling and working overhead
  • Ability to perform heavy labor and lift 50+ pounds as needed
