Job description

The successful MSHA Electrician candidate will be responsible for implementing and maintaining the Savage Maintenance Program. You will be responsible for all maintenance and electrical work at our Local Savage Operations. 
 
Here is what you will be doing:
  • Maintain and execute regular and irregular maintenance schedules on electrical systems around the operation
  • Exhibit knowledge of high voltage switchgear, motors, MSHA regulations, instrumentation, switches, controls, and other electrical components in an industrial setting
  • Work a day shift with flexibility
  • Perform work in a safe manner with minimal supervision 
  • Team player with the ability to work with other team members
  • Willing to do any task(s) that require(s) attention

Requirements of a successful Electrician:

  • 1+ years of industrial electrician experience
  • Current MSHA Surface Certification
  • Read, write and understand English
  • Follow written and/or verbal instructions
  • Comprehend electrical drawings
  • Industrial or Power plant experience a plus
  • Basic computer (XP, windows, excel, etc.) a must
  • Electrical certifications a plus

Here are some of the physical requirements for this role:

  • Work outside in ALL weather conditions (snow, rain, sub-freezing temps)
  • Climb up and down ladders and equipment safely
  • Comfortable with heights
  • Carry at least fifty (50) pounds
