The Aerospace Corporation is hiring a Network Modeling and Simulation Engineer for the Communications and Network Architectures Subdivision (CNAS) in the Mission Payloads Division (MPD).

Job Summary
Network Modeling and Simulation Engineer will join the Network/Systems Department (NSD) to provide support and perform trade studies, analyses, and simulations of space network architectures. Moreover, role will provide critical insight and feedback to government customers to optimize the overall communications performance of current and future terrestrial, satellite, launch vehicle, and ground-based systems. Will also help inform acquisition decisions to enhance national security.
What You'll Be Doing
  • Participate in multi-disciplinary engineering teams in development and analysis of future network architectures and requirements
  • Analyze and simulate complex network architectures and protocols
  • Engage in systems architecture definition, development, analysis, modeling & simulation, and prototype development/validation
  • Innovate through specialized technical studies and internal research and development (R&D) projects to develop the next generation of Space and Ground network concepts, architectures, and technologies
  • Participate in development of data analysis and post-processing tools
  • Support development and sustainment of core network simulation, emulation, and modeling capabilities

What You Need to be Successful
Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelors degree(s) from an accredited college/university program in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, Math, or related discipline. (pursuing or conferred within last 12 months)
  • 0-1 year of industry work experience
  • Working knowledge and understanding of data analysis, OSI and TCP/IP models as it pertains to network design, analysis, and modeling & simulation.
  • Proficiency with Python and/or C/C++ programming.
  • Ability to perform analysis and simulation andpresent results effectively in briefings and technical reports
  • Willing to travel, as needed (up to 10%)
  • This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, which is issued by the U.S. Government. U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.
