If you exemplify our values in your everyday actions and you are an experienced Assistant Manager/General Manager/Shift Supervisor within the industry and are looking for an exciting opportunity to deliver “I Love It Here” experiences to your Guests and Crew Members, then The Melt is for you.

Title:                      Shift Manager

Reports to:         General Manager

Position Summary: The Shift Manager is an entry level leadership position for those seeking to grow into a management role. Assists the Management Team in executing the “I Love It Here” guest experience.

Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

Lead Crew Team

  1. Responsible for leading opening and closing shifts
  2. Leads crew in the overall daily functions of the restaurant, including friendly and efficient guest service, product quality, and cleanliness.
  3. Delegates tasks to Crew Members and ensures execution to meet operation and service goals.
  4. Effectively communicates before, during and after the shift to Crew Members and management team.
  5. Conducts crew training using appropriate company resources.
  6. Develops positive relationships with Crew Members by understanding individual motivation, needs, and concerns.
  7. Directs crew in proper procedures of cash handling and opening/closing the restaurant.
  8. Has full knowledge of restaurant policies regarding crew and administers prompt, fair and consistent corrective action for all violations of company policies, rules and procedures.

Guest and Product Excellence

  1. Orchestrates the “I Love It Here” experience for all guests
  2. Commits to ensure standards are consistently being met for speed of service, order accuracy, product quality and store cleanliness.
  3. Resolves guest issues positively and promptly while upholding The Melt’s values.

Restaurant Cleanliness and Food Safety

  1. Ensures crew adheres to Melt policies related to Uniform, Grooming and Personal Hygiene
  2. Oversees all food safety and sanitation requirements and practices

Personal Conduct and Safety

  1. Holds shift crew accountable to all Melt employment standards, guidelines and policies
  2. Ensures safety and security for all Crew and Guests.

Requirements/Qualifications

  1. MUST BE HAPPY
  2. Must have 6-12 months' experience supervisory/management experience within The Fast Casual, QSR or Mid-Scale Casual Dining segment
  3. Must have strong interpersonal skills, a positive attitude and the ability to learn quickly
  4. Must be available to work flexible hours including peak sales times, opening shifts, closing shifts, and weekends
  5. Must be able to work under pressure and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  6. Must be able to read and communicate in English
  7. Must be able to lift between 25-30 lbs.
