Job description

Responsibilities

  • Checks in the NJMMIS (Emevs) system if the client has active Medicaid
  • Daily interviews the new clients by phone and verifies the information entered by Intake for quality control of the Newark or Secaucus residential programs to finish the official admission to CURA using the NJSAMS-web based system
  • Informs Intake dept. of any missing, wrong information in need of correction.
  • Processes PE (Medicaid Presumptive Eligibility applications for the new eligible clients
  • Requests or secures the initial or ongoing authorizations according to the funding source.
  • Daily cleans up the NYSAMS message queue where the IME notify the status of the authorizations requested. Once approved, enters the authorizations in the corresponding excel list and in Zoobook.
  • Submits tickets if applicable through the NJSAMS system if there are problems securing the PA and follows up with the status
  • Processes PE or help clients to call NJ First/Family Care to reestablish Medicaid.
  • Beginning of week prepares a new due ERL list to be distributed to each of the programs
  • Submits some of the due ERL in the NJSAMS.
  • Sorts, distributes and makes copies of the clients’ correspondence pertaining to their health insurance.
  • Sometimes goes to the Intake department to pick up new clients’ chart.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with Newark or Secaucus programs regarding clients change funding sources, discharge dates, ERL status
  • Updates funding sources in Zoobook if necessary
  • On a daily basis, bills FFS Newark and Secaucus clients using NJ-DAS.
  • Reviews daily, the Suboxone list submitted by the Medical Dept. to make Zoobook appointments of Medicaid active for Newark or Secaucus clients.
  • Generate and submit Medicaid billing in Zoobook every 3 days.
  • Sometimes if instructed; process the CCF on the NJMISS website.
  • Fill out in Zoobook the Medicaid paid claims

Qualifications

  • High School or Equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Data Entry, billing or accounting role
  • Experience with Billing Softwares, Zoobook, Quickbooks, NJ-DAS/NJMISS knowledge a Plus.
  • Bilingual Speaking Preferred
